SIMEX meters assisted to beat the world record!

 

The Southampton Boat Show 2012 in the UK took place from the 14th till 23rd of September – it has been considered as one of the biggest events related to wide range of water equipment.

During this year’s show the world record in scuba cycling under water was beaten. Two former Royal Marines – Chris Sirett and Brian Stokes – cycled over 100 miles in 16 hours. The cycle was placed in a tank filled with water. Volunteers had decided to beat this record to raise found for Royal Marines Association, which support every British soldier and their families.

The SWS-W606 meter together with the SLIK-94 counter, produced by SIMEX Ltd. measured the distance left to beat the record.

 

 


The SWS-W606 is a sophisticated digital panel indicator intended for displaying any numerical values and characters defined by user. Values could be sent from the master device over the RS-485 serial interface link or from other device.

 

The main features of this counter are:

  • MASTER/SLAVE,

  • Possibility of displaying mnemonic messages,

  • Programming by means of the built-in keypad, IR programmer SIR-15 or RS-485 communication interface,

  • The display brightness can be adjusted in 8 steps,

  • Modbus RTU protocol is used to communication with device.
